Automaton

Started out as a simple sketch that turned into a somewhat detailed face thing! With gears! I feel like I could continue putting details in, but I have to draw the line somewhere, otherwise I'll pass the stage of liking it while working on it and then never finish it. Anyway...

I liked the idea of thinking of this character as an old machine that was upgraded into a very new new one with the insides still there. The outside layers have regenerative properties but over time it's been regenerating using both the new and old designs rather than sticking only to the outside appearance. So here it is with part of its insides exposed while also showing the strange modifications it's made over time.
